Helen Kelly
Helen Jeannette Kelly, age 94, passed away peacefully after a long and well lived life. Helen was born to Jesse and Sara Bishop April 23, 1923 in Fort William, Ontario.

She attended local schools and graduated with a grade 13 Diploma. She worked at Canada Car in the 1940’s during the war welding Hurricanes and Helldivers airplanes as a proud “Rosie of the North”. Later she worked as a clerk. Although she enjoyed many long lasting friendships throughout her life, meeting and marrying her husband Michael Kelly were some of her happiest memories.

She saw the world through rose colored glasses always seeing only the best in every person and situation. Helen was a strong and proud woman and lived independently on her own until shortly before her passing. Her faith was deep and strengthened her spirit and her devotion to her church was an integral part of her life.

She volunteered yearly with the Salvation Army Kettle campaign. She loved her family immensely and was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her gentle sweet presence will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Eveline (Kevin), son Donald (Carmelina), dear niece Fran, grandchildren Sarah and Madelaine Fischer, Michael, Linda, Sean, Anita and Joey Kelly, Paula, Frank and Moses Bishop (and their families). She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, sisters, husband Michael, son Fred, dear niece Shirley and numerous others.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Salvation Army Church, 2621 Victoria Avenue East, Thunder Bay, ON.
