Helen Rita Nowegejick

Mrs. Helen Rita Nowegejick, age 88 years a resident of Gull Bay First Nation passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021 at Hogarth Riverview Manor.

Helen was born on January 11, 1933 to parents Joe and Jane Poile. Helen was a member of traditional sweatlodge ceremony and circles. She loved cooking traditional foods. Helen loved sharing stories and laughing. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards with friends and family, and going to the occasional Bingo game. Helen loved socializing and making pies.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Oliver Poile, Gene Nowegejick (Marlene Tsun), Stanley Nowegejick, Richard Nowegejick (Delilah King), Percy Nowegejick (Madonna Nowegejick), Jacqueline Nowegejick, Jane Nowegejick as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, her sister Nancy Penagin (Joseph Penagin) and brother Charlie Poile.
She is predeceased by her mother Jane, father Joe Poile, son Arnold Nowegejick, son Morris Nowegejick, daughters Loretta and Elizabeth, husbands Patrick Nowegejick and Abel Bouchard.

A funeral will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Gull Bay First Nation Family Residence by an Elder Ceremony. Visitation will be held Thursday evening and Friday at the family residence.
