It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen Rogozinski on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at the age of 87 years at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Helen was born February 17, 1930 in Sandy Lake, Manitoba and moved with her parents at the age of 16 to Port Arthur. She attended business college in Port Arthur and worked at Co-op and Kellogg Dairies. She met the love of her life Joseph and they were married June 27, 1953 in St. Casimir’s Church. Helen loved camping trips with the family and gardening. She was an awesome cook and baker and took great joy in making perogies, pickles and cabbage rolls especially for her grandchildren.

Helen will be greatly missed by her son Rick (Lorri Kozyra), daughter Janet (John Skerget); grandchildren Jeff Rogozinski (Jenna), Sheri Skerget (Andrew Larsen), Shawn Skerget, Scott Rogozinski, Jason Rogozinski; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lila Rogozinski, Weston and Avery Larsen: nieces and nephew.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, parents Mary and Walter Pinski, sisters Agnes Golab and Jean Urbanski, brother Jack Pinski, brother-in-laws Wesley Golab and Ed Urbanski.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 2, 2017 leaving the Sargent & Son Funeral Home at 10:30 am to St. Casimir’s RC Church, 613 McKenzie Street, for the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am, celebrated by Rev. Krystian Sokal. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday October 1, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Vigil Prayers being offered at 6:30 pm. Should friends desire, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Northern Cardiac Fund, Northern Cancer Fund or the charity of their choice.
