It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Helen Lorraine Wilson (nee Johnston) on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1926, she moved to Port Arthur at a young age, then moving to Hamilton where she met our father, James “Bill”, the love of her life. They married in 1948, moving to Nova Scotia and then eventually settling in Port Arthur.

Mom was never idle but always busy baking bread, knitting, sewing and caring for her grandchildren.

Helen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Cynthia Wilson (John) and their children: Danielle Morin, Michael Morin, and their grandchildren: Kaileigh, Tristan and Sophie; son Glenn (Gayle) and their children: Shaun (Holly), Ryan (Jen), Blake (Lucy), and Shelby Hulme (Yancy) and their grandchildren: Breanna, Courtney, Conor, Cole and Wade; daughter Coreen Toneguzzi (Louis) and their children: Chad Tennant, Louis (Sarah), Cassidy Howard (Evan), Allycia and Bailey and their grandchildren: Jack, Lucius, Marzia and Aria; her sister Wanda Eckman and brother Lyle Johnston (Sharon).

She was predeceased by parents John and Christina Johnston; granddaughter Nicole Morin in 1973; husband James (Bill) in 2008; sisters Doris Folino, Verna Lindstrom and brother Glen Johnston.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14th in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Rev. Rob Smith. Cremation will follow with inurnment to take place privately on Friday at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service.

As expressions of sympathy, Mom had requested donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay in memory of her sister, Doris Folino.
