Mrs. Henrietta “Etta” Louise Peel (nee Chenier), age 101 years, resident of Roseview Manor, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday October 16, 2018.

Etta was born in Port Arthur on April 19, 1917 and was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay where she attended local schools. In 1940 she married Albert “Bud” Peel, and together they had 5 children. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Women's League, and her passions were her family and playing bridge.

Etta is survived by her children, Graham (Margaret) Peel, Lorraine Keighley (George), Janis (David) Hardick; daughter-in-law Helen Peel; son-in-law Jim Arnold; grandchildren Robert (Christine) Peel, Darren (Laura) Peel, Lisa (Gareth) Bosch, Alison (Mike) Fraser, Paul (Lisa) Arnold, Laura Arnold, Becky Keighley (Darren), Brendan (Kayla) Hardick, Erin Hardick (Murray); and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert “Bud” Peel in 1990; daughter Betty Arnold in 1988; son Gary Peel in 2011; grandson Byron Keighley in 2017; son-in-law Bill Keighley in 2013; parents John and Edith Chenier; and siblings Albert, Bob, Edith and Barb.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, with Rev. Victor DeGagne officiating. Interment will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to service time on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children's Aid Society, the Northern Cancer Fund, or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
