It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Hubert Harold Turk on January 27, 2016 at the age of 86.

Born October 21, 1929 to Maude and Bruce Turk, he grew up with his four brothers and sister on the family homestead in Hymers, Ontario.

Employed by several construction companies prior to purchasing a dairy farm in Murillo which was his passion in life where he raised his family and enjoyed farming.

Gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, his dog Willy, family gatherings with lots of good food, grandchildren and laughter were his greatest joys in life.

A life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225 he spent many Saturday nights “going out stepping”.

Our father, grandfather, great grandfather will be terribly missed by: Darlene – Lisa, Neil and Benjamin; Dwane (predeceased 2011) – Ronald, Sheri; Gary (Sharlene) – Trevor, Ryan; Valerie (Ken) – Shaun; Dale – Melissa; Darren; married to Evelyn for 14 years; lifelong friend Anja; brother Don (Olga); sister-in-laws Joyce (Chester); Moyra (Delmar). Also left to mourn numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Maude and Bruce; brothers Ed, Delmar, Chester and sister Caroline (Ben); daughter-in-law Brenda (Dwane) and numerous lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 808 Ridgeway Street, officiated by The Venerable Deborah H. Kraft. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment in Hymers Riverside Cemetery following the reception.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Hubert’s memory to the St. Joseph’s Care Group or to the charity of your choice.
