Mrs. Inkeri “Ingrid” Tuovi Knox (nee Granholm), age 93 years, passed away peacefully in Hogarth Riverview Manor on Monday, November 29, 2021.

Inkeri was born on December 12, 1927 in Pomarkku, Finland to Martta and Niilo Granholm. She married Albert Knox in Port Arthur on December 24, 1952. Inkeri was active in the Finnish Community, especially with the Ladies of Kaleva and Canadian Suomi Foundation as well as Hilldale Lutheran Church where choir singing was always endearing to her. She was predeceased by her husband Albert (1996); her mother Martta and father Niilo Granholm; step-mother Tyyne Granholm; infant brother Altti; sister Kerttu Landvik; brothers Onni and Osmo Granholm.

A special thank you to the staff of 2A at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and the Transitional Care Unit at Hogarth Riverview Manor for all of the care and comfort provided to Inkeri over the last two months.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Inkeri Knox will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in Hilldale Lutheran Church, 321 Hilldale Road, with Rev. Jari Lahtinen officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, COVID protocols are still being applied in group settings.
