Irene Evelyn Burns died on November 2, 2018, aged 74 years, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on March 12, 1944 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the late Harold and Evelyn Burns. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1962 and attended St Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. She continued working in nursing in the U.S.A., mainly Florida, where she lived for over 50 years. Irene greatly enjoyed travelling in her younger years.
She is survived by her only sister Diane MacRae (the late Alex), her two nephews Murray and David, niece Patricia, and their families. She will be greatly missed by her close friend Gregg Schoppel. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Mgsr. P. Stilla V.G. followed by an interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
