Mrs. Irene Marie Czank, aged 76 years, passed away suddenly in her home on Thursday, August 10, 2017.
Irene met and married Leslie Czank. After raising her children, she was employed at Zellers for 6 years. Irene later became a foster mom for Dilico Family Services.
She loved children and never refused a warm bed and gentle hug to any child. Irene attended St. Patrick’s Cathedral and enjoyed, with pride, when Nicole Miniely and Eva Hastings, her foster daughter, served. She was also the envy of all who saw her beautiful garden. She loved her flowers in the summer and in the winter she created beautiful crafts, crocheted and sewed many lovely things for her children and grandchildren.
Irene is predeceased by her parents Bella and Armand Barbeau and son Allan Czank. She is survived by her husband Leslie Czank; children Barb (Roy) Bedesky, Fay (Joe) Kulyk, Lisa (Tanner) Saul, Julie Bedesky and Matt Bedesky. Denise Miniely (Gary Runholm), Chris and Nicole Miniely; Dan (Jen) Czank, Jacob and Ian; Jacques Ouellette (Brenda), Cassandra, Patricia, Sabrina, foster daughter Eva and numerous great grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers Stanley and Phillip Barbeau and her sister Ida Svoboda.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will take place later at Cliffside Cemetery in Nipigon. Memorial donations to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society would be appreciated.
