The family of Iris Pearl LeBlanc (nee Mazerall) are sad to announce her passing on April 7, 2023 at the age of 81.

Iris was born to Glenna and Jack Mazerall on July 18, 1941.  She was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick and spent her formative years in New Brunswick.  In 1958, Iris relocated to Baie Comeau, Quebec with her family.  This is where she met and fell in love with the ever handsome, Joe LeBlanc.  Iris and Joe were married in November 1960.  Together, they had three sons Rick (Janice Price), Brian (Lisa) and Anthony, and one daughter Angela (Doug Wilson) before Joe’s passing in 1986.

After the passing of her husband, Iris found renewed purpose in continuing her education.  At the age of 50, she obtained her Registered Nurse license and was presented with the President’s Award for earning a 4.0 Grade Point average. This accomplishment made Iris and her family incredibly proud. She spent the next 21 years working on 4 South at McKellar Hospital, followed by her role as Nurse Manager at Southbridge Roseview.

Iris leaves behind 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.  Iris also leaves behind three siblings, Nora Banks (Doug), John Mazerall (Antoinette), and Brian Mazerall (Nancy). She was pre-deceased by her parents and her brother Richard.  In addition to her family, Iris leaves behind her good friend, Michael Strahan from The Game Show Network.

Iris was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 2021. She was at peace with her prognosis and was looking forward to being reunited with Joe.

Plans for a celebration of life will be forthcoming as well as a burial.
