Isabella Gladys Young peacefully departed to be with her Lord and Savior on November 2, 2018 at Roseview Manor with her family by her side. Born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 24, 1924 to Eva and David Sutherland. Mom worked as “Rose of the North” at CanCar, Canadian Foresters and a volunteer for the Cancer Society. Mom enjoyed going to church, fishing with dad and family celebrations with their eight children. Mom and dad taught us many lessons; family first, loving others and don’t sweat the small stuff.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Bernard; sons Patrick, John, and Robert; as well as her parents and siblings; Doris, Edwin, John, David, Norman and June. Isabella Gladys is survived by her children; Claire La Jeunesse (Lisette), Colleen (Dick) Savor, Steve Young, Teena (Kevin) Fournier, Fred Young (Mike); daughter-in-law Connie Young and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Thanks for all the compassion and care given to our mother from the staff at Roseview. You all gave her the quality of life she deserved.

A Funeral service for Isabella will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8th in the chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Pastor Len Nolan. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke foundation or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
