Jacqueline Rogers

Posted

Jacqueline Patricia Rogers (Knight) passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 28 in Southbridge Roseview Manor. Jackie was born July 7, 1935 in Port Arthur. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Jack, her siblings Johnny, Lillian, Bobbie, Jimmy and her cousin Danny who was like a brother.  She is survived by her two daughters, Lynn (John) Humphrey, and Cheryl Lori Pilat, her grandchildren Tyler (Gaeun) Seed, Amanda (Brent) Robitaille, Justin Pilat, and Cristian Pilat, and her great grandchildren Jake, Hazel, and Fletcher.

Jackie worked as a switchboard operator at the General Hospital and a few other places in Thunder Bay. She was also a typist for many university and college students over the years. Jackie was a talented seamstress, and later took up needlework, knitting and loved word puzzles.  She was always up for a good board game and was especially good at Scrabble. Jackie had a great love for cats and thought herself fortunate that over time she had Sunshine, Sidney, Snowball and Abby in her life.

The family would like to thank Dr John Coccimiglio and the nurses and staff at Roseview Manor (Primrose) for the kindness, care and compassion they provided to Jackie during her time there, especially her last few days.

As per Jackie’s wishes there will not be a service and cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
