It is with heavy hearts that the families of Jade/Tabi announce her passing on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Ottawa General Hospital.

Jade was a smart, beautiful young woman with a big heart and an immense love of people and animals. Our “Dr. Doolittle” attracted animals which she showed in her YouTube video. “Squirrel on my head” (2009)

Since her hiking injury at the age of 13, she struggled with crippling mobility issues missing half of her Grade 8 year at Vance Chapman School. She was a high achiever determined to continue on to PACI and then graduating grade 12 in 2009 from Hillcrest High School. She attended Confederation College – Broadcasting in attempt to further her education, but was cut short due to her health.

Jade was an independent woman. She worked hard, pushing herself to do what she could at minimum wage jobs – climbing the ladder being Assistant Supervisor at both Dairy Queen and Starbucks.

Even in pain, she could be seen serving customers kneeling on a stool at Starbucks with a smile on her face. Jade was an artist and writer and brought her ideas to life in her videos of friends, family and animals.

They can still be enjoyed on her YouTube channel user: SidewalkRocks. In 2013, Jade moved to Ottawa in hopes of finding medical professionals to help her but it was too late by the time she had a good time in place.

Leaving behind to grieve is her loving cat Dinky, loyal puppy Zachary, sister Erika, parents Rhonda Koski and Lauri Torma, half-brother Mathew, grandparents Fern and Veli Wennstrom, Pekka and Marilyn Torma and Gail Koski as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and pets.  She was predeceased by grampa George Koski.

A Celebration of Jade’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

May the Lord, mighty God bless and keep you forever.
Grant you peace, perfect peace…
