With deep sorrow, the family of James Brodie Killingbeck, age 77, of Manitouwadge, announces his sudden passing at the TBRHSC on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Robert and Patricia, his brother Eric Vehkalati, brother-in-law Reginald Robinson, and sisters-in-law Patricia Vehkalati and Lisette Brochu.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Linda Salomone, and their children: Sandra (David Desmoulin), William (Toni Lynn Ruff), and Kathryn (Andrew Bruce). Jim's grandchildren, Kathryn and Crystal Desmoulin, Brennan Maynard, Braeden Lamont, Richard and Annina Killingbeck, and Allison and Brodie Bruce, will deeply miss their grandpa.
Jim is also survived by his sisters Margaret Robinson and Ruth Swartz (Chris), and his brothers John (Carolyn) and Andre Brochu, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
A cherished educator for over 30 years, Jim was profoundly grateful to have spent his career doing what he loved. He took great pride in his children and adored his role as grandpa to his grandchildren. Jim was passionate about music and enjoyed jamming with friends. He also loved attending car and air shows, but his all-time favourite pastime was travelling and exploring with his co-pilot, Linda. Although Jim saw himself as an introvert, he found joy in striking up conversations during his travels and while out and about.
Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at Manitouwadge Cemetery on Thursday, August 22nd at 11:30 a.m., followed by refreshments at OLOL Catholic Church Hall.

His family and friends will cherish the many wonderful memories and stories he leaves behind. Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
