James Eichmanis

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jamie from complications due to a heart attack. He was a wonderful young man with a beautiful heart and soul. Jamie had a unique sense of humour and when he was around you couldn't help but smile and laugh.

Jamie's passions were playing baseball, curling with his late friend Norm, and fishing. He began as a little boy going with his dad and later became a fishing guide at Bolton Lake Resort for several years. In high school, Jamie and friend Mark would skip classes to go fishing as soon as the weather allowed. He could be found at a lake in summer or winter.

Jamie's personality made him friends easily. At school and most recently with coworkers at Resolute Forest Products. One friend, Scott Hendry made him a new member of his family and Jamie treasured that time.

Football season brought many animated conversations with his brother Ryan and he was always checking to see what mom was making for dinner.

Survived by parents Ken and Bonnie (Thunder Bay), brother Ryan (Tina Armenti, Thunder Bay), sister Shannon ( Michael Lesperance, Nipigon) , grandmother Sharron Parsons (Thunder Bay), aunt Wendy Geneau (Brantford), uncle Rolf Eichmanis (Thunder Bay), cousins, nieces, nephews, special friend Anna Chief and too many other friends to mention.

Predeceased by his grandfather and friend Thomas Kuchiak, uncle Felix Geneau and his faithful dog of 18 years, Max.

Funeral Services for the late Jamie Eichmanis will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:30 pm in the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James with Rev. Randy Boyd officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.

We would like to thank the EMS, ICU nurses; especially Yvonne, Michael and Brian whose kindness and compassion were above and beyond. To Dr. Roussos who spent so many extra hours trying to find answers, Dr. MacDougall who worked against the odds, Dr. Anderson who so clearly explained things and allowed me to watch procedures and answered all our questions and to Dr. Ahmed who at the end showed me compassion that will never be forgotten. You are an amazing group of people. Thank you to all of our family, friends and Jamie's friends for your words of comfort and support.

Jamie had such a good heart and would help anyone. If you see a homeless person who is hungry or someone else who needs a hand, help them as Jamie would have.

Donations made in memory of Jamie to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Cardiac Vascular Surgery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

We are all feeling a great loss but know he is watching over us all. Jamie was a wonderful young man with a bright future ahead of him. He was kind and thoughtful and will be missed by us all. When we think of him, it will bring a smile and that is his lasting gift to us.
