It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Fabian Landry-Cyrette on October 26, 2015.

Born November 14, 1960 in Thunder Bay, James was always a special man and a strong believer of Aboriginal Culture.  He was a proud member of the Fort William First Nation.

James was talented in Native Crafts, spending hours with bead work and making his outfit he wore in Pow Wows where he danced and sang, drumming and connecting with Spirit; the drum brought the heartbeat of our Earth Mother to the PowWow for all to feel and hear.  In his earlier years he joined the Navy and serviced in B.C. bringing home honorable medals.

Later, as a manager at the Chronicle Journal, James had many special qualities.  He was very intelligent, finishing many degrees he accomplished in College and University. He then worked as a Social Worker at Dilico.

He participated and volunteered on many occasions with various organizations and was a hard worker, always there to lend a hand to everyone.  James loved the outdoors, nature, fishing and hunting. He was devoted to his soul mate Annie Drake for 16 years, whom he cherished and loved to the moon and back.

A proud father to daughter Autumn, sons Chris, Danny and Nicky; you were his pride and joy, he loved you all.  Grandfather to Olivia and Robin whom he cherished.  The oldest brother to Terry (Virginia), Kelly and Gary also survived by his beautiful mother-in-law Josephine Drake, sisters-in-law Agnes and Donna as well as many special extended friends and family who will miss him.

Predeceased by mother Precilla Cyrette and father James Landry.  We miss you already but know like the Eagle, he will soar above the clouds, spread his wings and fly into the sun, above the stars in the sky.

Memorial service for James will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at  2:00pm in the St. Anne's Mission Church, with Rev. Larry Kroker s.j. officiating.  Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

James Landry-Cyrette will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
