Mr. James "Jim" Sylvester Sweeney, age 73 years, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
James was born on May 5, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario. He was employeed at various jobs throughout his life and was hardworking at everything he did. James loved country music and enjoyed going to the Country Jam, on Sunday's, with his brother Bob. He had a passion for the outdoors and fishing. He especially liked sharing his catch with his best friend, his dog Lady Bug, with whom he spent hours on the trails everyday. Family was very important to James and he loved his children dearly.
James is survived by his children, Kimberly (Rob), Adam, Mychael and Krista; grandchildren Kyle, Devon, Austin and Colton; siblings Ralph, Bob, Doreen, Nora, Kay and Sharon; nephews Bobby, Arran and niece Tammy as well as 6 great-nieces. Numerous other relatives also survive.
He was predeceased by his son, Shawn; his parents and siblings Helen, Peggy and Harold.
Funeral Services for the late Mr. James Sweeny will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Interment will follow in Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.
