It is with the deepest sorrow that the family of James (Jim) Lewis Murray, share the news of his passing on January 16, 2018.

Jim will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the community of Thunder Bay. Born in Fort William, Jim studied law in Toronto then returned to Thunder Bay to practice law, sat as Deputy Judge in small claims court, and lectured at Lakehead University.

He is survived by his mother Nancy Murray, sons Michael and Matthew (Christina), partner Sheila Campbell and her children Kelsey (Todd) and Trevor, brothers Don (Lesley) and Gerry (Aury), and Michael and Matthew’s mother Fenny Seinen, also Jim’s many nieces, nephews and their children.

Jim was loved and respected by his many friends, family and colleagues who are deeply impacted by his passing.

A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

Online condolences can be made through Blake Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Children's Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay, Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, or a charity of your choice.
