It is with great sadness the family of the late James Joseph O’Rourke announces his sudden passing at his residence on Friday April 14th 2017. He was born on November 3, 1957 in Newport County Tipperary, Ireland. At the age of 20, James immigrated to Canada where he met the love of his Tipperary, Ireland. At the age of 20, James immigrated to Canada where he met the love of his life, Daniela.

For many years James worked at Bay Meats until his illness forced him to retire. James enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours hiking and fishing and watching his favorite sports, curling and hockey.

He was a very gentle and kind soul who always thought of others first. James will forever be loved and greatly missed by his loving wife, Daniela of 29 years, his mother Bridget Aho, brother, Thomas (Margaret) O’Rourke, sisters, Mary (John) Boland, Patricia (Ben) Postuma, Breda (Rob) Hewitson, mother in law Albina Bordignon, brother in law, Claudio (Kim) Bordignon and numerous nieces nephews and cousins in Canada and Ireland. He was predeceased by his father, Patrick, stepfather Arthur Aho, nephew Evan Hewitson, brothers John, Martin, father in law, Costantino Bordignon. Funeral services for the late Mr. James O’Rourke will be held on Monday April 24, 2017, with family and friends gathering at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, for the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will take place 1 hour prior to mass time in the church. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Rehab Program at St Joseph’s Hospital or St John’s Ambulance.
