Mr. Jan Gacek, age 91 years, was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2016.
Born on March 3, 1925 and married to his wife Francishka November 27, 1947 for 69 years. He came to Canada with his wife Francishka, sons Michael and Stephan, and his mother Mary to meet his father Michael for the first time.
His father Michael Gacek came to Canada in 1928 and Jan and his family were reunited in 1959 after 32 years apart. Jan was a parishioner at St. Casmir’s Church and a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Polish Branch # 149. He helped for many years while he was able. He was predeceased by his father Michael, his mother Mary and son Stephan.
He is survived by wife Francishka, son Michael (Wendy), and daughter-in-law Lynn, grandsons Timothy, Christopher and Jeffrey, granddaughter Michelle and great-granddaughters Kaydon, Jaymie and Jessica.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 10:30am,at St. Casimir's Church celebrated by Rev. Ireneusz Stadler.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Prayers will be offered September 28, 2016 at 7:45pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel.

Jan Gacek will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
