The family of Janessa Lauren Wesley, age 23 years, are saddened to announce her sudden passing in Thunder Bay.

Janessa was born on October 10, 1993 at the Thunder Bay General Hospital.  She was raised in Thunder Bay by her grandparents and uncle David for the majority of her life, but spent some time in Fort Hope First Nations.

Janessa was very talented, she loved anything that was creative and put her talent to work, planning events and parties, beading and making earrings, and even taking beautiful photos of her children.  But, what she loved most and brought her the most joy in life was being a proud mother to her daughters.  She was a cherished sister and a dear aunt to her nephew and nieces. Being in the presence of her family brought her true joy.

Janessa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Current, Cedar and Creedance; mother Elizabeth “Lisa” Wesley; father Jason Nate; grandmothers Elizabeth Achneepineskum and Mary-Jane Nate; grandfather Corny Nate; uncle David Moonias; siblings Belinda (Casey), Melodina (Stewart), Martina (James), Kyleen Ooshag, Christina Ooshag, Kelly Wanakamik (Brad), Candace Ooshag, Jaylynn, Shawlynn, and Ella; aunt Clara (John) Wabano and Mary Nate; uncles Victor Missewace and Ronnie (Kendra) Nate; as well as numerous nieces, her nephew and countless cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandfather Albert Bird and aunt Loretta Baxter-Missewace.

Funeral Services for Janessa will take place on Friday, October 13, 2017 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, with Deacon Victor Pelletier presiding.  Visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janessa’s memory to a charity of choice.
