Mrs. Jean Alice Ivy Conn passed away peacefully on February 7, 2019 with her family by her side.
Jean was born November 10, 1934 in London, England. Jean married her soulmate Roy on March 17, 1956 and the two of them immigrated to Canada shortly after in 1957. They lived in various towns in Manitoba and Ontario while Jean supported Roy in ministry. Thirty-eight years ago settled in Thunder Bay where they both served and led the Baptist Church in Murillo until retirement. Jean enjoyed her work as a librarian where she got to know many people in the Murillo community. Jean had a real love for her animals and especially her cats. Jean’s pride and joy was her family. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
Jean was predeceased by her parents George and Nellie Connor and her brothers George and Ron. She is survived by her husband Roy Conn; daughters Lois Valvasori (Scott) and Ruth Vannieuwenhuizen (Mike). Grandchildren Steven (Kaitlyn), Shawn (Jessica), Sarah, Erin, Liesha, Kristy, Ben, Madison and Dimitry. Great-Grandchildren Emmett, Scarlett, Dylan and Sophia.
Jean’s celebration of life is to be held February 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church in Murillo (117 Mud Lake Road). Reception will follow at the Murillo Community Center (4569 Oliver Road). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Teen Challenge would be greatly appreciated.
