Jean Paul Joseph Ovide Petel

Jean Paul Joseph Ovide Petel, age 63 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7,2021 with his family by his side.

Jean was born in Val d’Or, Quebec to Rita and Leopold Petel, eventually moving to Ontario where he worked hard in the mining industry as a heavy-duty mechanic. He was one of the best. Jean travelled all over, working in numerous mines up to his retirement in April 2020. Jean loved the outdoors hunting and fishing as well travelling.

Jean was predeceased by his parents Rita and Leopold and sister Ginette Petel. He is survived by his children Christopher (Nicole) and Vanessa, brothers Gilles and Rob Petel, nieces Angela, Nicole Crystal and Renee, and nephew Michael.

A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Ciaran Donnelly presiding.
