Jenna Wade

Jenna Michelle Wade (Burgsteden) passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022 with family by her side. Though she fought with everything she had, Jenna lost her short but courageous battle with colon cancer.

Jenna was born on July 29, 1984 in Thunder Bay, ON. She grew up on the family potato farm with her parents and three siblings, and her grandparents and many other relatives close by.

As a child, Jenna spent most of her time outdoors. She loved riding in the tractor with her Dad, doing all the girly things with her Mom, playing with her siblings in the sandbox and camping with family. She grew to love travel and fashion, and the great outdoors. Jenna took such pride and enjoyed her work as a Registered Practical Nurse. Jenna carried herself with confidence and poise, yet wasn’t afraid to be goofy and let loose. Her beautiful big smile would light up any room. She had an amazing sense of wit and humour that was infectious to those around her.

In 2015, Jenna married the love of her life, Tyler Wade. Family and friends celebrated with them at the wedding of her dreams. They went on to have three children together- Cohen, Adri, and Sawyer- who were the greatest joys of her life. Together Jenna and Tyler created a beautiful home and life for their family.

Jenna was known for her calm, patient manner. She loved holiday traditions and family gatherings. More recently, camping with her young family allowed her to reconnect with her own childhood experiences. Time at Sandstone Lake was cherished and gatherings were often centered around their campsite. Known for always having an eye for detail, whether it be in decorating her home, planning a social event or the next exciting vacation! Jenna sure knew how to plan a party and was the ultimate host. Her door was always open to family and friends alike.

Jenna took great pride at encouraging her children in all of their interests. She was Cohen’s biggest cheerleader and Adri’s favorite dance partner. Her short, but precious time with Sawyer was consumed with purpose and love.

Jenna will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Tyler, her children Cohen, Adri, and Sawyer, her parents Darren and Debbie Burgsteden, her sisters Riley (Kyle Rogers) Betts, and Courtney (Mike Haveman) Anna, Casey, Caleb, Evynne, brother Dustin Burgsteden, grandparents Henry and Ann Breukelman, her mother-in-law Joanne Wade, brother-in-law Jesse Wade (Deegan, Rylen) countless caring aunts, uncles, cousins.

Jenna’s family would like to sincerely thank the health care professionals in Thunder Bay as well as Mt. Sinai Hospital for the personal care and compassion they extended to Jenna and her entire family. Words could not adequately express what their efforts have meant to all of us. Additionally, the outpouring of support of friends and family have, and continue to be a source of strength to the family. Please know that not one ounce has gone unnoticed and we are so very grateful.

Funeral Services for Jenna will be held at Redwood Park Church (2609 Redwood Ave.) on Friday, May 20, 2022 presided by Pastor Joel Brigham at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund for Jenna’s children is being arranged. Kindly e-mail donations and / or inquiries to thunderbayspuds@tbaytel.net
