It is with tremendous sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Edythe Crompton (nee Sutton). She passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with her family by her side on Jan 10, 2018. Joan was born in Fort William, the 6th of 8 children and a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay.

On May 5, 1955 she married Gordon Crompton and together they shared 62 years of marriage. Joan enjoyed and cherished her family, often bragging about their accomplishments, she loved to play cards and over the years was an avid bowler and golfer.

Joan will be sadly missed by her husband Gordie, Donna & Robin Peacock and their family Tyler, Cherie, Rylee, & Harper Peacock, Dan, Alynne and Amelia Peacock. Susan & Dale Dubinsky and their family Rob, Mary, Jackson and Claire Dubinsky and Andrew, Jessica, Mack and Kyla Dubinsky. Sam & Ryan Aldrich and their family David, Zoryana, Parker and Annabelle Charbonneau and Sara Charbonneau. She is also survived by her brothers Bob Sutton, Ron (Val) Sutton, sister-in-law Peggy Sutton and sister-in-law Judy Crompton as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by brothers, Victor (Muriel), Louis (Dorothy), Ken, and Fred (Hazel) Sutton, her sister Joyce (John) Friesen, sister-in-law Betty Sutton, brother-in-law Ken Crompton and her granddaughter Jessica Joan Peacock.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at 11:00am, Monday Jan. 15, 2018 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Ridgeway St. with Archdeacon Deborah Kraft officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be forwarded to the TBRSHC Foundation for the Cardiovascular Campaign, the Diabetes Society or the charity of your choice.
