Born in London, England on January 9, 1931, she was raised and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1948. Although our mom overcame many adversities, she became a Registered Nurse in the mid 50's back in England, then came to Canada to practice her trade until she met our father Charles, whom she married in July 1965.
Joan is survived by her daughters Heather (James) of Thunder Bay and Vivian (Sam) of Barrie, five grandchildren: Madison, Julia, Chris, Anthony and Eric, as well by numerous other family members.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles (2001), grandson Justin (1988), and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Matthew Diegel presiding. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
