JOAN WILSON

Sunrise June 11, 1934
Sunset May 18, 2024

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Joan and Junior are now reunited in eternal love. Sweethearts from high school, Joan, the cheerleader and Junior, the athlete were married more than 70 years. Mom was busy in the early years travelling to numerous cities with their young children while dad played pro hockey. When they settled back home, Joan focused her love and attention on raising their 5 children. Joan loved her weekly bridge parties with ‘the girls’ and socializing with her many friends. Mom and dad loved travelling to Florida, Barbados and on many cruises. Summers were spent at Surprise Lake which later became their home. Joan was predeceased by her husband Junior, parents Chelsea and Jean Bunny, in-laws Gordon (Phat) and Rita Wilson, sisters Elaine and Barb, brothers Jack and Bob and son-in-law Jukka Nieminen. She is survived by her brother Jim, her children Val (Don), Wendy, Gary, Gordie (Karen), Glen (Rosey), grandchildren Chelsea, Sterling, Brennan, Gary, Ryan, Lyndsay, Kaela, Kirsten, Vincent, Lucas and Luisa. Great-grandsons Colton, Auston, Elliot, Edison and Logan and most recently, she met her first great-granddaughter, Leah. We would like to thank all those at Southbridge Roseview who took such amazing care of mom, especially Ken, who made mom smile every day. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
