John David Laco

Mr. (John) David Laco, age 69 years passed away on March 17, 2017 peacefully in his sleep at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

David was born in Fort William on October 17, 1947. He attended Westgate High School and retired from the Canada Postal Service.

David was the eldest of the family. He enjoyed walking, old movies and led a solitary life that included spending time with his siblings.

David is survived by his sisters Cynthia (Wayne) Shier and Shelley Simpson of Duluth, MN; brothers Brad (Lisa) Laco and Bruce (Kristine) Laco of Toronto; his nieces and nephews Wade and Colleen Shier, Lara Simpson, Andrew Ryan and John Laco, Erin and Ben Laco; and the rest of his family and friends.

David is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, and his brother-in-law John Simpson.

David wanted us to thank his childhood friend, Joe Milks, who supported David through his addiction.

Our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital for making David's stay as comfortable as possible.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
