John Francis “Masabe” Pierre (Niiganagabo) age 60 years, a resident of Kenora, Ontario, crossed over peacefully at home on Monday morning, February 29, 2016 with his daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren by his side.
Johnny lived these past years in Kenora, working at Migizi Treatment Centre as a Healing Counselor. It was in this role that he touched many lives and through his travels on Pow wow Highway, he touched many more.
John is lovingly remembered by his children Eunice, Amanda, Summer, Cody and Joshua; brothers Bobby, Roland, Eldon; and sisters Marlene, Donna, Cheryl and Margaret. He was predeceased by his grandparents Jack Keebuck and Elizabeth Pierre; parents Cyril and Margaret Pierre; brother Leonzo; and sisters Francine and Amanda.
The Funeral Ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Fort William First Nation Arena Gym led by Tom White of Whitefish Bay Reserve. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the Arena Gym today from 12:00 Noon until service time.
