Mr. John Holliger passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015 in the TBRHSC at the age of 85.
Born on September 30, 1930 in Gontenschwil, Switzerland, John moved to Canada in 1954 and after crossing Canada several times he settled down in Kakabeka falls where he met and married Mae Negley in 1966. After working in English River and for Great Lakes Pulp and Paper, John and Mae started K.B. Laundromat in 1973.
Throughout the years John maintained and used his carpentry skills.
A devoted family man, John enjoyed collecting mineral specimens, the great outdoors and playing many sports; all with his friends and family.
John is survived by his wife Mae, sons Robert and James; sisters Erika and Loni, as well as numerous relatives in Switzerland. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Arthur and Eddie and sister Margaret.
Funeral services for John will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 South Syndicate Avenue, with reception to follow.
