Jack was born on April 22, 1930 in Fort William, where he lived his entire life. He married Joyce (nee: Johnson) in 1951, and they were married for almost 50 years. Jack began working at a very young age at his parents' bakery. Later on, he was the proud owner of Supercraft Heating Services Limited. Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club for many years. Family was very important to Jack, and time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was especially cherished.

Jack is survived by his son Bryan (Michelle), daughter Barbara (Paul) Kannegiesser and son Bruce (Trish); grandchildren Jordan (Devon) Sokoloski, Kelly Sokoloski, Carl, Lindsay and Andrew Kannegiesser, Kayley (Juan) Sokoloski-Pernia and Chelsey Lokstet as well as his great-grandchildren Theo and Quinn Sokoloski, Charlotte and Arthur Kannegiesser, and Nolan Pernia. A sister, Jeanette (Warner) Marsh and several nieces and nephews also survive him, as does Jack's companion of 13 years, Mathilda Lucas.

He was predeceased by his wife Joyce in 2001, his parents John and Jean Sokoloski, in-laws Arvo and Elsie Johnson, and Leatrice and Harold Hoggarth.

As per Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment was held in Mountain View Cemetery.

The family would like to express our gratitude to nurse Paula from Bayshore Home Health, Dr. Kevin Bezanson and Dr. Kristina Pulkki, as well as the staff of the Emergency Room and Floor 2A of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Jack to the Northern Cancer Fund at the TBRHSC would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
