Mr. John Koropeski, age 85 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday July 5th. A lifetime resident of Thunder Bay, John was a canvas tradesman, establishing Blue Star Tent and Awning and owning it for almost 60 years. He was a very skilled tradesman who took great pride in his work and had a work ethic second to none. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his younger years, as well as family gettogethers and watching sports, especially hockey and baseball. He was a faithful member of St George’s Anglican church for many years.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 60 years Ingrid and his six children, John (Maureen), Bruce (Pam), Judy, David (Kim), Karen (Ken) Ranta, Valerie (Maurice) Rioux, grandchildren Chris (Carolyn) Koropeski, Sue (Richard) Koury, Braeden Koropeski, Madison Ranta, Brooklyn Ranta, Michelle Rioux and great grandchildren Anna, Oliver and Roya, brother in law Art Swanson (Leah), and sister in law Vera Mead (Bill), survived also by nieces and nephew.

Predeceased by his parents Nick and Mary, special uncle Mike Kuculyma and in laws Martha and Gus Swanson.

Funeral services for Mr. John Koropeski will be held on Thursday July 12, 2018 @ 11:00 am at St George’s Anglican Church 298 McIntyre St. (corner of Algoma and McIntyre), with the Reverend Gordon Holroyd officiating. Private interment at Riverside Cemetery will be held at a later time.
