It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John George Pavlou. He died unexpectedly on February 7, 2017 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was 63 years old.

John was born in Krokilion, Phkidos, Greece on June 28, 1953.

John was a dedicated employee and worked for Clara Industrial Services for over 38 years until his retirement in 2015.

John had a wicked sense of humour, and was quick to joke with his family and friends. He was deeply devoted to his family, and active in church life. He also was naturally social, and he loved having coffee at Tim Hortons with his friends.

John will be deeply missed by his wife of 31 years, Maria, and his sons Yorgo and Socrates. He is survived by his best friend and brother Tom Pavlou (Rosa), Nieces Dina and Maria, his sister Dina Labropoulou, as well as numerous extended family members in Greece and Canada.

The Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 leaving the Harbourview Funeral Centre at 10:30 a.m. to the Greek Orthodox Community Holy Trinity Church, 651 Beverly Street, for Services to be presided by Rev. Fr. Nikolaos Tambakis beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, where the Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Thunder Bay or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
