John Sainnawap

John Sainnawap passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Thunder Bay.

John was born on August 24,1934 in Long Dog Lake. John resided in Kingfisher Lake for most of his adult life. He often spent his time at his log cabin during seasonal changes. John enjoyed the outdoors, he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He attended church regularly at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church. He is survived by his wife Ruth whom he married in 1978.

He was predeceased by his late parents Norman and Amelia Sainnawap, his brothers Joseph (Annie), Zacchaeus and his sister Ina (Charles). He is survived by his brother Allan Sainnawap (Saloma). He leaves behind his nephews and nieces.

His gentleness and quiet presence demeanor were always welcoming and friendly to people. He would have a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by his relatives, and community members.

The funeral services will be held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.
