It is with profound sadness the family of John Tomov-Marcin announces the unexpected loss of loving husband, father and friend on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Thunder Bay.

John took great joy in camping, fishing and mushroom picking. He was born on April 8, 1929 in Hazlin, Bardejov, Slovakia, and would later immigrate to Canada where he worked for the Canadian Steamship Lines for over 35 years.

John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Marcin, son John Marcin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Slovakia. He is predeceased by parents Jan Tomov-Marcin and Suzanne Kasperek, sister Anne and Andrej Jazudek. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 when family and friends will gather for Liturgy in Blake Funeral Chapel at 10:00 am.followed by Panachyda celebrated by Rev. Stepan Didur. 

Visitation will take place at 9:00 in the Blake Funeral Chapel prior to service.  Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.  If friends desire, memorials to a charity of choice would be appreciated. Rest in Peace.
