John William Allan Nuttal

John William Allan Nuttall, 84 (born May 16, 1933) of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 10, 2018 surrounded by adoring family. 

John grew up in Port Arthur, Ontario. He was raised by his father Gerald (Jack) Nuttall and his special Aunt Teenie Rissanen. He attended St. James Public School, followed by Port Arthur Technical Institute (now known as Hillcrest High). He attended Lakehead University as a mature student.

John began his automotive career apprenticing at Wilson Motors before moving to Lakehead Motors where he became Service Manager. He spent the rest of his career teaching at Gron Morgan Memorial High School, where he taught automotive mechanics and made many lasting friends. 

In his younger days, John played football in high school and with the Port Arthur Mustangs. His loves were his family, the outdoors, his airplane, his camp at Starnes Lake and the love of his life Nancy. 

John is survived by wife Nancy, sister Violet Nelson, his children Terry, Judi and Wendy (George), grandchildren Jesse, Celeste, Cheyenne, Jacob and great-grandson Jude.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held on Wednesday March 14 at Harbourview Funeral Centre at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Centre or the Salvation Army.
