Mr. (Joseph) Armand DeCorte, age 90 years, passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2018 with his family by his side.
Armand was born on July 5th, 1928 in Fort William, Ontario. He worked for Purity Bread and B & B Stone, as a truck driver, until his retirement in 1988. He married the love of his life, Clara Anne Caldwell, on August 22, 1953 and they celebrated their 65th anniversary this year.
He loved spending time with family, friends, puttering around his vegetable garden and the camp. His greatest joy was being able to spoil his many grand and great grandchildren.
Armand will be deeply missed and remembered by his wife, Clara Anne; sons Larry (Kim), Roy (Rebecca), Ken (Irene), and daughter Carol (John); grandchildren, Andrew, Amy, Katie, Megan, Paul, Philp, Amanda, Jenna, Saara, Hannah, and Kelvin; great grandchildren, Aiden, Gavin, Lucas, Emma, Xavier, Heath, Lennox, Freya, Saku, and Santtu; brother Ed (Vikii), sisters-in-law Bernice Caldwell and Marion Otway; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Armand was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Augusta; brothers, Ferdinand (Fred), John, James (Jim), and George; sister Margaret; parents-in-law Cecil and Glena Caldwell; brother-in-law Arthur; sister-in-law Mae, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Armand’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Rev. Rob Smith of St. Paul’s United Church. Visitation for family and friends will take place on hour prior to the service time. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens will follow the luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Armand to a charity of choice.
