Mr. Joseph Richard Kane born August 24, 1934, passed away September 8 2016, after a brief illness, with his wife and children by his side.

Born in Bathurst New Brunswick to Richard and Millie Kane, he grew up in New Brunswick with his brothers Don and Peter. Joe graduated in 1961 with a civil engineering degree from St. Francis Xavier University.

He worked mostly in the pulp and paper field, ending his career at C.D. Howe Central where retired in 1995. Joe married his wife Bonnie Hurley on July 3, 1965 in Fort William.

He was a member of St. Dominic’s Church and Council 7332 of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family who meant everything to him.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Gary and wife Carol, son Robert and wife Valerie, daughter Kathy and husband Denis, son Brian and wife Melanie.

He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Aydan, Natalie, Griffen, Ashley, Ethan, Flynn and Zachary, as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 1:30pm, at St. Dominic's Church celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi c.s. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

If friends desire, memorials to Thunder Bay Shelter House would be appreciated. Joseph Kane will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
