Joseph Cvetko Slosar, age 80 years, passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2017.

Born in Novokracine, Slovenia on April 29, 1936 to Marija and Anton Slosar, he was the youngest of three children. He came to Canada in the late 1950’s seeking a better lifeand immediately went to work in the bush. He married his first love, Maria, in 1961. After becoming a widower in 1973, he married his second wife, Joyce in 1974. In 1997 he became a widower for a second time with his two daughters, Gini and Cindy by his side.

Joseph worked as a millwright at Richardson’s Terminals until his retirement.  Joseph was a very generous and talented person who gave of himself and enjoyed helping others.  He loved music, enjoyed travelling, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

Joseph will be sadly missed by daughters, Gini Thompson (Ed) and Cindy Pelletier (Calvin), granddaughter, Tye Pelletier, and best friend, Louise Trusgnach, along with cousins, nieces and nephews back home in Slovenia.

Joseph is predeceased by his first wife, Maria, his second wife, Joyce, parents, Anton and Marija Slosar, his brother, Emil and sister Mimica.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening, May 1st from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to service time and during the hot plate reception in the Harbourview Hall which will follow the service.

Private interment will take place in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
