Josephine Baranuik (nee Krzystofczyk)

Mrs. Josephine Baranuik (nee Krzystofczyk), age 78 years, passed away peacefully in Hogarth-Riverview Manor on Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Josephine was born on March 12, 1943

Josephine will be lovingly remembered by her husband Russell; older brother Mike; sons Richard and wife Tracy, Greg and wife Terri; grandchildren Jesse, Jordan, Angel, Nickalas and Blair; numerous nephews; nieces and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Stanley; sister Emily and youngest son Dennis.

She was born in West Germany during WW2. Her family fled Krawka after the Nazi invasion. After immigrating to Canada as a child she grew up in Port Arthur. Meeting Russell, they married in 1959 and resided On Fort Street, then moved to Rosslyn to raise her family. Josie was always very active, working at Loblaws for most of her working career in the bake shop. An excellent cook at home as well always preparing traditional polish cuisine. She was very active socially in North Neebing, hosting social events in the family home during holidays or special occasions. Summers were spent with the gang from the neighborhood at Round Lake. Falls were busy for her picking blueberries or wild mushrooms.

Josie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her 40's and struggled with that disease over the years. Josie spent her last years at Hogarth-Riverview Manor being cared for by some very special people. Although always in pain, she managed to maintain a warm wonderful smile and gentle attitude. Loved by many, be it her sons friends or lifetime friendships of hers, she will be greatly missed by many.

As per Josephine’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Graveside service to be held at the family plot Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.
