It is with great sadness the family of Josip "Joe" Ramuscak, age 62 years, announce his passing on Sunday, September 20, 2015 in St. Joseph's Hospice, with family by his side.
Joe was born on February 9, 1953 in Vivodina, Croatia to Nikola and Kata Ramuscak. He came to Canada in 1971 and lived the remainder of his life in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Joe retired from Provincial Papers after more than 30 years of service. After retirement he continued to enjoy camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Joe was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish.
Joe will always be remembered by his children Nikola and Ronald (Monica) Ramuscak and their mother Elizabeth Ramuscak. Joe was also a proud grandfather "Dedo" to Luka, Milla, Neza, and Sarina. Joe is also survived and will be lovingly remembered by sisters Vilma Mravunac, Ana Kresonja, Vera (Marko) Fric, Dragica (Ivan) Podrebarac, Josipa Keserica, Rezka Pograjec, Barbara (Drago) Krmpotic and brother Vilko (Zdenka) Ramuscak, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Joe is predeceased by his parents Nikola, and Kata Ramuscak, brothers-in-law Anton Mravunac, Nikola Kresonja, Andrej Pograjec, and parents in-law Henry and Slavica Miazdzyk, and their sons Anthony, and John Miazdzyk.
Funeral Services for the late Mr. Josip Ramuscak will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma at 10:30AM to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Croatian Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 11:00AM celebrated by Fr. Francisco Blazek and Fr. Terry Sawchuk. Interment to follow in St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening after 6:30PM in the Everest Chapel with the Vigil Prayers offered at 7:45PM.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation or St. Joseph’s Hospice.
