Juhani Possakka

Mr. Juhani Possakka, age 82 years, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, January 9, 2017.

Juhani was born on October 18, 1934 in Finland. At the age of 14, he came to Canada to be brought up by his uncle Jack Possakka and his wife Aili as his mother was very ill and his father had already passed away.

Juhani was introduced to Ilona Talliniemi and they were married on May 19, 1962. They ran a dairy 
farm in Kaministiquia, and had one daughter Linda in 1963. They continued to live on the farm after retiring in 1999.

Juhani worked side-by-side, day in and day out with his wife on their farm. They led a quiet life, often staying home rather than venturing out. He was a wonderful father, always going above and beyond. Those who knew him valued his willingness to help when needed and his jolly, quirky sense of 
humour.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Linda (Al Postma); as well as grand-daughter Mikaela;
sister Leena Manninen, nephews Teuvo, Raimo, Risto, and Ron Rehula and their families, also his remaining family in Finland. 

Funeral services for the late Mr. Juhani Possakka will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, with Pastor Brian Falkenholt of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
