With broken hearts and great sadness the family of Julian Femiak announces his sudden passing on Jan. 4th, 2016.

Julian was born on April 16th, 1930 to Andrew and Stella (Buchkowski) Femiak.  He attended Ogden Street School and Fort William Collegiate Institute where he specialized in finance.  While working a summer opening at Texaco Canada, Julian wondered if office work was for him and so he applied for a job and stayed another 40 years (I guess he liked it).

Julian met and married his beloved wife Anna Mae in 1962.  He joined the Fort William Kinsmen in 1963, holding many positions including president.  He later became a life member and remained active in their K40.  Julian next commitment was volunteering at the CLE as an associate director.  He became VP of finance and President for three years starting in 2005.  Julian enjoyed working with all the staff and families, especially the children, who nicknamed him ‘The Loonie Man’, because of his generosity.

Julian is pre-deceased by his parents Andrew and Stella Femiak, brother Michael Femiak and his first wife Josephine Femiak.  Surviving are his wife Anna Mae, sister-in-law Florence Femiak, nephews David (Shari) Femiak, children Michael and Melissa and Bradley (Lori) Femiak, baby Nikki,  cousin Maryann (Don) Lysak and their children Ryan, Mark and Deanna.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 11, 2016, when family and friends will gather for funeral mass at 12:10 at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Thomas Mullamangalan.  Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday afternoon January 10, 2016 with Vigil services at 3pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

Julian Femiak will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
