Julie McKay

Mrs. Julie Marie Theresa McKay, age 75 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, October 31, 2021, following a long fought battle with cancer.

Julie was born on June 28, 1946 to Frank and Wanda Polgrabski. She met Wallace McKay and they were married in November 1969. Julie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She truly loved spending time with her family as well as gardening and flowers. She had a 30 year career as a teacher and her passion for teaching was shown in the success of her students. Julie was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and her church family was important to her. She was also Past President of the Lakehead Women Teacher's Federation. Julie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Julie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wallace; daughter Rhonda (Robert) LeGros and grandson Morgan as well as other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents.

A private family service will be held for Julie in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Should friends do desire, donations made in memory of Julie to the Northern Cancer Fund (payable to TBRHSF) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
