It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we, the family of Justin Porter, announce his unexpected passing at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the age of 19.
Justin was born in Thunder Bay on June 2, 1998, the youngest son of Don and Heidi Porter. He was a beautiful, innocent soul who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Justin had an infectious smile and loved to laugh and could often be heard singing along to videos on his iPad and computer. He attended Hammarskjold High School and shared a special bond with all those who worked with him.
We were Blessed to have him in our lives and we know that he's in a better place talking up a storm and doing all the things he loves.
Justin will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his parents Don and Heidi Porter, brother Matthew, grandmothers Lita Maiola and Pat Porter, aunts and uncles: Bobbi, Jaci, Dawn, Jerry and Bill Washington, Kristi (Jeff) Charko and Jennifer (Todd) Bandy as well as by numerous cousins and other relatives. He was predeceased by his Papa Michael Maiola and Grandpa John Porter.
A service to celebrate the life of Justin Porter will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Harold Hunt presiding. Visitation for friends will be for 1 hour prior to service time. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Lakehead Public School Board – Hammarskjold High School Special Needs Class would be greatly appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
