With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Kalju Manni on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospice with his loving family at his side.

Kalju was born on March 28, 1924 in Kivioli, Virumaa, Estonia. After serving his county in WWII, he immigrated to Canada and married Dore Marits in 1951. He spent his career working for Great Lakes Paper and retired as camp unit superintendent of Camp 517. Kalju had a lifelong love of the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, gardening and especially his time spent at his camp at Eaglehead Lake. Kalju was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Dore in 2005, and by his parents August and Ann Manni, and his sister Miralda in Estonia.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Tiina and son-in-law Tony Tarsitano, daughter Ann, and son Peter (Carol); granddaughters Sarina Lloyd (Dan) and Andrea Tarsitano, and his great-grandsons Joshua and Jared Lloyd. He will also be missed by Sarah and Shannon Dyce and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Kalju’s request, cremation and a private family service will take place. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Kalju’s memory to St. Joseph’s Hospice Unit.

A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the TBRHSC and St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassion and care during Kalju’s last days.
