Karen Augustine passed away on March 30, 2022, at the age of 54 in Thunder Bay.
Karen was born in Red Lake, Ontario to parents Albert and Elizabeth Augustine on August 13, 1967. Northwestern Ontario would be home for her entire life. Thunder Bay being where she would settle and meet life partner John Belesky. Karen was fiercely devoted to those she held close to her heart. She was also an avid animal lover owning a bonded pair of cats, Maggie and Mollie. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed puzzles and games that challenged the mind. Karen also cherished being a kookum to Daeon, Elias, Colton, Niklaus, Dimitri and many others. Karen was a caring and dedicated kookum, mother, aunt, daughter, sister, and friend.
Karen is survived by children Robert and Lauren, father Albert, siblings Fred Sr., Cedric, Jerry, and Lilly, nieces Alexsis, Francine, Angela and Ashlynn, nephews Kyle, Fred Jr., and Landon as well as numerous extended family from various northern communities.
She was predeceased by life partner John Belesky, daughter Kristen, mother Elizabeth, brothers Roy, Lawrence, Lester, and Silas.
