It is with great sadness that the family of Karen announce her peaceful passing at St. Joseph's Hospice February 18th, 2021. She had undiagnosed lung cancer since 2017 and lived her life her way until her passing.

Born September 7th, 1954 as the first daughter of six children, Karen was always like a second mom to all her siblings. Raised in Thunder Bay, she grew up in Current River. Karen had a myriad of hobbies and interests: photography, reading, letter-writing, knitting, needlepoint, hiking, bicycling, walking, gardening and canning/pickling. Many would remember her working at Lovelady's Camera Shop in her earlier years and later as a switchboard operator at P.A. General. She loved everyone she knew without restraint and had an endless warmth and compassion to her. Everyone who met her would be drawn to her by her infectious personality and quirky sense of humor.

Karen is predeceased by her father Aaron Taciuk, mother Nellie Taciuk/Proctor, brothers Fred and Marshall and sister Aven.

She is survived by her two children Bronson and Kinsey, three grandchildren Odys, Charis and Harmony, two sisters Alison and Taryn, nieces and nephews.

Cremation has already taken place, as per her wishes. Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society are welcomed or grow a sunflower in her honor.

A memorial bench will be placed along the Boulevard Lake loop in the future.
Karen/Mom/Gaga, you will always be in our hearts.
