Kathleen (Kay) Jessie Forrest (nee Bruce) at age 87, beloved wife of the late John Hunter Forrest, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with her family at her side.
Kay actively contributed to her community, especially the Stanley Women’s Institute and Rural 60 Plus.
She is survived by her seven children Bruce (Valve) of South Stanley, Don (Monique) of Canmore, AB, Kathy Hnatiuk (Richard) of Lethbridge, AB, Bill (Kim) of Kamloops, BC, Anne Ritchie (Robert) of Thunder Bay, Edna (Phil) of Calgary, AB, and Alec (Helene) of Calgary, AB; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Kay is also survived by her brother Donald (Verna) of Kenora, brother-in-law Gordon West of Ottawa, sister-in-law Margaret McMurtry of Thunder Bay and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband John, sister Mary West, daughter-in-law Mary Forrest and grandson Alan Hnatiuk.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Kakabeka Legion on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 7:00pm. Cremation has taken place and a private interment at Stanley Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Kay Forrest will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
