Kay Fisher (Sabourin)

Mrs. Kay Elaine Fisher, age 47 years, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

Kay was born on June 26, 1973 in Marathon, Ontario to Abel and Angie Sabourin. She obtained her education in nursing and was a dedicated employee at Hogarth Riverview Manor for many years. It was a job Kay truly loved and she was deeply respected by all of her coworkers and the residents. She was a very kind, loving, caring, gentle and generous lady. Kay enjoyed camping and curling, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her presence will be missed by so many.

Kay is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Rodney Desmoulin; her children Mark Fisher, Duston Fisher and Taren Desmoulin as well as her grandchildren Alayaha, Lestat, Amira and Avery. She is also survived by mother Angie and stepfather Lloyd McWatch; her siblings Warren, Ross, Faye, Leslie and Mark as well as many close aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her father Abel Sabourin; Grandma “Mom” and Grandpa “Baba” Fisher of Longlake #58 and Grandma and Grandpa Sabourin of Mobert, Ontario.

Funeral Services and Visitation for Kay will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Cremation will follow. A video of the service will be available on the Everest of Thunder Bay website beginning on Monday.

As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, the attendance at each visitation and service is restricted to 50 people or less and a record of attendance must be maintained. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory for those attending.
